Play #1 (5) – Legal BBW by the LT. Both players are on the LOS and in the Free Blocking Zone at the snap. The block occurs in the FBZ and is an immediate and initial action following the snap.
Play #2 (1&2) – Legal BBW by the center. Again, the block is an immediate and initial action following the snap. There is no Chop Block as the LT does not make any forceful contact with the defender.
Play #3 (23) – This is an illegal BBW foul on the defensive tackle. He rises and sees a double team block coming at him, so he dives low to defeat he double team. This is an illegal BBW foul on the defense as it is a second act, or delayed action.
Play #4 (3&4) – This is a legal BBW by the center. He blocks below the waist with an immediate and initial act following the snap.
Play #5 (42) – This is an illegal BBW by the defensive back. He takes on the blocker with a BBW that is not immediate and is not in the free blocking zone and he is not a lineman.
Play #6 (6) – Legal BBW by the defensive lineman. Although he starts as a linebacker, he comes to the LOS prior to the snap and thus becomes a lineman. He blocks low with an immediate and initial action following the snap.
Play #7 (1) – This is an illegal BBW by the DE. The contact/force is with the pulling guard’s right knee and is a delayed action (not initial action). Foul by the DE.
