3-5-10c When a game official discovers any player who is bleeding, has an open wound, has any amount of blood on his/her uniform, or has blood on his/her person, he shall stop the clock or delay the ready for play signal. The player must leave the game for at least one down under provisions of the apparently injured player rule. The bleeding must be stopped, the wound is covered, the uniform and/or body  appropriately cleaned, and/or the uniform is changed before returning to competition.
