7-1 A scrimmage down is started with a snap. The snapper's feet must be behind the neutral zone. His head may be in the neutral zone, but not beyond the foremost point of the ball. The ball may be preliminarily adjusted after which the napper may not make a movement that simulates a snap. The snapper may not remove both hands once he has placed a hand(s) on the ball after the ready for play. The snap must be one continuous backward motion in which the ball immediately leaves the hand(s) of the snapper and must touch a Team A non-lineman or the ground before it touches a Team A lineman.
