9-3-5a It is legal for offensive lineman to block from behind in the free blocking zone, provided both players were on their lines of scrimmage and within the zone at the time of the snap and the ball has not left the zone. If the players are on the line of scrimmage but only partially in the zone at the snap, they are considered to be in the zone for purposes of administration.
