2-3-2a This is a legal blocking position with closed or cupped hands. The hands are in advance of the elbows and not extended more than 45 degrees from the body. The elbows may be either inside or outside the frame of the shoulders. The hands are closed or cupped with the palms not facing the opponent. The forearms may not be extended more than 45 degrees from the blocker's body. If they are, then hands must be open and shall not be locked.
