SDCFOA Information Update - Steve Coover - August 11, 2026

Some Flag Football Updates / Reminders
1 - Sunglasses are now permitted - prescription or otherwise.  Nothing prevents their use in the 2026 rule book

2 - Home jerseys will be a dark color (not white).  The visitor jerseys will be white.

3 - Shorts cannot have any stripes.  There may be some week #1 exceptions communicated by Coover.  Otherwise, start the game with a 10-Yd unsportsmanlike penalty on the head coach.  Inform Coover afterwords.

4 - The neutral zone is 1-Yd plus the length of the ball, in length.  No one enters the NZ prior to the snap.  If so, dead ball foul, 5-Yds.  Do not ignore, or provide a "do over".  Call the foul.

5 - The snap must be a backward pass.  No hand-to-hand snap.  It can be short but must not be hand-to-hand.  If muffed to the ground, the ball is dead and that down has ended.
